Frequently asked questions
The questions we get most often from teachers, coordinators and business managers. If yours is not here, just ask.
An incursion brings the program to your site instead of taking students off it. There is no transport to organise or pay for, no permission-slip logistics beyond your usual in-school requirements, and far less time lost to travel — so more of the session is spent actually learning.
A suitable indoor space with power, tables for group work, and a staff member present with the class. We bring all equipment and materials. If your space has particular constraints, let us know beforehand and we will adapt the setup.
Sessions are typically capped at a standard class size so every student gets hands-on time with the equipment. For larger cohorts we run rotations across the day rather than increasing group size.
Programs are written against Australian Curriculum outcomes across Science, Digital Technologies, Design and Technologies and Mathematics for the relevant year band. We can provide the specific outcome references for your planning documents on request.
Every facilitator holds a current Working with Children Check and first aid certification, and we carry public liability insurance. We are happy to supply documentation for your records before the booking.
Yes. Tell us about your cohort when booking — sensory sensitivities, mobility requirements, language backgrounds or support needs — and we will adjust pacing, grouping and materials accordingly.
We travel across metropolitan Melbourne, with regional bookings available by arrangement. Travel beyond our standard radius may attract an additional fee, which is always included upfront in your quote so there are no surprises.
Pricing depends on group size, session length, number of sessions and travel distance. Send through your details and we will provide a written quote within two business days, with no obligation.
Term time fills up quickly, particularly around Science Week and end-of-term periods. We recommend enquiring at least a term ahead where possible, though we will always try to accommodate shorter notice.
School calendars shift and we understand that. Contact us as early as you can and we will do our best to reschedule rather than cancel. Notice periods and any applicable fees are confirmed in writing with your booking.
Send it through and we will get back to you within two business days.
