Afiya Institute brings learning to life through engaging, hands-on incursions for students from Foundation to Year 6.

Our programs transform curriculum concepts into memorable learning experiences where students explore, investigate, create, build, problem-solve and discover. From coding and robotics to engineering, science, the natural world, food, sustainability and immersive technology, each experience encourages students to learn through active participation.

Designed to complement classroom learning, our incursions foster curiosity, creativity, collaboration and critical thinking while helping students make meaningful connections between what they learn at school and the world around them.

How our programs are designed

Built for real classrooms.

Curriculum aligned

Programs connect to Australian Curriculum outcomes across Science, Digital Technologies, Design and Technologies and Mathematics. Specific outcome references are available for your planning documents.

Age-appropriate

Language, pacing and independence are pitched to the actual stage taking part. A Foundation session looks nothing like a Grade 6 session, on purpose.

Minimal preparation

Facilitators arrive with all equipment and materials, set up, run the session and pack down. Your staff stay in the room without having to run the show.

Safety and compliance

Every facilitator holds a current Working with Children Check and first aid certification, and we carry public liability insurance. Documentation is supplied on request.

Inclusive by design

Sessions adapt for different abilities, sensory needs, language backgrounds and support requirements. Tell us about your cohort when booking and we adjust accordingly.

Connected to classroom learning

Each session ends with follow-up ideas your teachers can use, so the incursion links to the unit already underway rather than sitting apart from it.

Foundation

First structured investigations: making a prediction, testing it, and describing what actually happened.

Guided investigation and early sequencing, with plenty of hands-on building and comparing.

Small-team design challenges, coding and fair testing, with the emphasis on iterating rather than getting it right first go.
